ABOUT VERUNA
Built from
lived experience.
Created for real life.
Veruna began with a simple belief: wellbeing shouldn’t require escaping from real life. It should help us meet it.
We created Veruna to bring together practical tools, thoughtful experiences and evidence-informed practices that help people better understand themselves, navigate challenge and live with greater intention.
Practice. Notice. Create space. Choose.

OUR STORY
It started with a question.
What if the practices that help us navigate stress, uncertainty and change weren’t something we turned to only when life became difficult — but something we learned to practice every day?
Veruna grew from our own experiences as professionals, educators, parents, teachers and students of everything. Across very different careers and experiences, we kept returning to the same observation: people are asked to navigate increasingly complex lives, but are rarely given practical tools for understanding what is happening within them.
The goal isn’t to escape life. It’s to become better equipped to meet it.
TROY HEUMPHREUS

Troy Heumphreus is an educator with a particular interest in movement, wellbeing and the conditions that help people learn, grow and feel supported. His calm, practical approach brings warmth and accessibility to Veruna’s work, helping translate thoughtful ideas into experiences and resources that can be used in everyday life.
Behind the scenes, Troy supports the development of Veruna’s programmes and community, bringing an educator’s perspective, a grounded presence and a genuine belief that meaningful change is built through small, consistent practices.
LAUREN MASTERSON-RODRIGUEZ

Lauren Masterson-Rodriguez is a healthcare executive, strategist and health economist with more than 15 years of experience leading growth, partnerships, market access and complex commercial strategy across international healthcare environments. She is also an Oxford doctoral researcher exploring how health systems can balance value, access and innovation.
A registered 200-hour yoga teacher and mindfulness practitioner, Lauren brings together executive experience, evidence-informed practice and a deep understanding of the pressures carried by senior leaders. Through Veruna and Anam, she creates space for women to think clearly, lead intentionally and build lives that feel as meaningful as they are accomplished.
Some experiences call for voices beyond our own. We collaborate with a growing community of teachers, practitioners and specialists who bring deep experience and different perspectives to Veruna programs and retreats.

THE MEANING BEHIND VERUNA
Veruna
(veh-roo-nah)
Veruna is inspired by two Old Norse words:
Vera — to be, to exist
Una — to be content, to find satisfaction or peace
Together, they reflect the philosophy at the heart of Veruna: to be present with life as it is, while learning to live with greater intention.

THE VERUNA PRACTICE

Practice builds awareness.
Awareness allows us to notice our thoughts, emotions and habitual reactions.
Noticing creates a moment of space.
Within that space, we gain the ability to choose how we respond.
We can’t always control what happens around us.
But we can choose how we meet it.
